Hey ya'll! Well.....Saturday morning we put in at Haulover canal without a problem....until we got out of the canal. Sustained winds yesterday at 15 to 20 in our face out of the SW. Not fun. It took us 3 hours to just cross the bay. We made it to the Wilson train bridge just before Titusville Marina and had to turn around. Washing machine waves on the other side of the bridge were at least 4 ft. Not gonna do it! We had Rick pick us up. Rain this morning with dropping temps made the decision to take out until Monday the right one. The front that is currently passing will turn the winds around to NW...YAY! Finally winds in our favor. We've only had a day or two of that so far. We'll put back in tomorrow (Monday) morning.

Great update Lisa! Pictures are fantastic. If my calculations are correct, you're averaging 13 miles a day. Here's wishing you clear skies and calm waters. Paddle on!
ReplyDeleteMarc,
ReplyDeleteSad to say, when we're actually paddling on decent days we're averaging about 20 miles a day. Yesterday was horrible with the winds. We spent most of the day trying to cross the bay on the west side of Haulover canal which should have taken about an hour since it's about 3 or 4 miles across. We should have a few good days coming up since the front just passed and the winds are now coming out of the North. Putting back in tomorrow morning.
